St. Petersburg, Fla. -- Those who ventured to Tropicana Field expecting to see a pitching duel Saturday night between Tampa Bay's Scott Kazmir and Boston's Josh Beckett got a rude awakening.

But not as rude as the barrage unleashed on Kazmir and Beckett.

It was bombs away for both teams in Game 2 of the American League Championship Series, a slugfest-turned-marathon won by the Rays, 9- 8, on B.J. Upton's sacrifice fly with one down in the bottom of the 11th.

Tampa Bay's victory, which tied the series, 1-1, lasted 5 hours, 27 minutes. The series moves to Boston for Game 3, scheduled to be played at 3:37 p.m. Monday.
