An attempt is being made to save Carlsberg South West Peninsula
League Premier Division crisis club Newton Abbot.
League officials have been informed of a possible consortium of
people who are determined to keep the Coach Road club in business.
The situation at Newton Abbot came to a head last weekend, when
they failed to fulfil their scheduled fixture at Wadebridge Town.
Peninsula League secretary Philip Hiscox has issued the following
statement on behalf of the League: "The officers of the South West
Peninsula League Ltd have enforced League rule 8.6 with regard to
the failure of Newton Abbot AFC to fulfil their obligation to play
the away Premier Division fixture at Wadebridge Town on ...
