Three of East Devon's amateur boxing clubs are benefiting from
the donation of a competition ring from the Royal Navy worth almost
pounds4,000.
Lympstone, Exmouth and Exeter ABCs will share the 20-foot ring,
which was used for the first time last Friday in front of an
impressive crowd at Exmouth Pavillion.
It is hoped the donation will encourage the development of the
sport in the county.
And Mike Kellsal-Spurr, treasurer of the Lympstone club, said:
"It was a fantastic donation from the Royal Navy to provide the
ring.
"They hope it will help get young people into amateur boxing. It
is an awesome commitment."
