North Madison Volunteer Fire Company donates truck MADISON -- The town and North Madison Volunteer Fire Company recently donated a 1977 Pierce fire engine to the Milan Fire Department, a fire company in rural New Hampshire.

The Milan Fire Department covers 111 square miles with two fire engine trucks, one of which recently was taken out of service because of the need for expensive repairs and safety concerns.

The donated fire engine was used by North Madison for 31 years. It was recently replaced by a new Pierce fire engine No. 10-57, which became North Madison's first-responder in an emergency.

The retired truck was appraised at $1,500 to $2,500.
