It May be his dream home but Toddington Manor has turned out to
be an expensive headache for controversial artist Damien Hirst.
The 43-year-old splashed out pounds3 million on the run-down
Gothic mansion three years ago and set about restoring it to its
former glory.
After spending millions on renovations, the property is still
shrouded in a maze of scaffolding thought to have cost pounds1
million to keep in place.
Set in 124 acres of countryside near Winchcombe, the building is
seen by some residents as more of an eyesore than when he bought it.
Damien expects the renovation project to take 10 years and it is
estimated the bill could run to pounds10 million.
