The state bond commission has approved $578 million for projects
in the Baton Rouge and New Orleans areas, according to state
Treasurer John Kennedy.
"Projects this month ranged from public works improvements and
debt refinancings to affordable housing and economic development
opportunities," Kennedy said. "In addition, local governments were
approved for at least $3 million for storm-related expenses and
funding necessary for the continued recovery and rebuilding from the
hurricanes."
