You might not think appearance is a priority when you're
diagnosed with cancer, but for a woman, losing your hair through
chemotherapy can be as hard as dealing with the diagnosis.
The prospect of losing her shoulder-length blonde hair was
certainly distressing for Carol Anstee. And the only way she has
been able to come to terms with it is by being fitted for a wig that
looks like her original hair.
Last November, Carol, from South Zeal, was diagnosed with breast
cancer.
The first treatment she underwent was a mastectomy and
reconstruction surgery, carried out at the same time. Initially, she
was told she would not need chemotherapy and radiotherapy because
the disease wasn't advanced, ...
