Bonfire night might be an exciting evening for friends and
families to enjoy but many horse owners face the event with a sense
of dread.
Most horses and ponies are likely to become extremely distressed
by the sights and sounds of fireworks going off, with many animals
sustaining serious injuries every year.
It is important to remember that although Bonfire Night is just
one day, fireworks are likely to be let off up to a week either side
of the night, particularly on weekends.
Horse owners should look out for posters and leaflets which could
alert them to fireworks being let off in their area.
