Article: COOKIE LOVERS, THIS ONE'S FOR YOU

It might be sandwiched between cookbooks at dad's house, packed in a musty box in my grandfather's garage or rotting in a landfill somewhere.

Wherever it is, it was the best cookie recipe I ever had.

Dad found it in a slender little magazine years ago, and together we whipped up a batch, letting the oats and raisins soak in oil and other ingredients overnight, as instructed, before finishing the cookies the next day.

It was those chewy, rich little gems that made it official: oatmeal raisin is my absolute favorite kind of cookie.
