Janice Marie Allen, age 66, of Washington Boro, died peacefully,
Monday, October 20, 2008 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in
Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late James C. Freeman and the
late Mary E. Moore. Janice was the wife of the late James W. Allen
who died August 29th of this year.
She was a devoted and active member of St. Paul's Episcopal
Church, Columbia, where she also worked as the church sexton. Janice
was a veteran of the US Navy. She was a 1960 graduate of Columbia
High School. Janice was the former director of the Columbia Food
Bank. She was a former caretaker of Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery,
Columbia. She was an active member of the VFW Post
