Museum reopens American Collections

After nine months, the Milwaukee Art Museum officially has reopened its American Collections Galleries.

These galleries include the American Furniture Gallery, which includes pieces from the collections of the museum and the Chipstone Foundation and new interactive audio tours on iPod Touch handsets. Milwaukee native and opera baritone Christian Elser gives commentary for one audio tour.

The American Collections Galleries also include the Loca Miraculi: Rooms of Wonder, historically inspired rooms that include classic pieces and the work of contemporary artists Martha Glowacki, Mary Dickey and Michelle Erickson.
