Interest in organic products and organic gardening has
skyrocketed in recent years. Such interest is evidenced by the rows
of organic products now offered in most grocery stores and at
farmers' markets and the increasing number of farmers switching to
organic practices to raise their crops. It's not just a national
trend, but a local one. For instance, Naturally Yours Grocery, an
organic products store, had a grand opening just last weekend in
Normal.
Many people ask "What is organic gardening?" The term organic
farming originated with Lord Northbourne, who wrote a book in 1940
referring to his farm as an organism.
