Article: Thanks to businesses that donate to schools

With the California state budget in such dire straits, it's often up to the individual schools, together with their PTA organizations, to come up with additional funds for much needed items. This year, over 500 families were able to have a fabulous time while raising money for Mariposa Elementary School at the PTA's annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 25.

The evening's festivities included 19-plus game booths, a rock climbing wall, a fortune teller, a huge number of home-baked items for sale, a parade of scary and sweet costumed creatures, a food court stocked with delicious food (including "Tacos El Chato") and a creepy Pirate's Cove.
