The Charleston Daily Mail is switching from evening to morning
publication, said Editor and Publisher Nanya Friend.
The change will occur on Jan. 5, she said.
"We are doing this for a couple of reasons," Friend said. "It
gives the Daily Mail a chance to extend its circulation beyond the
Charleston area. I'm excited about that.
"Also, there are efficiencies to be achieved by going to a one-
carrier force. I think people can quickly realize it will be a more
efficient system for Charleston Newspapers.
"It's going to be the same Daily Mail," Friend said. "Our mission
stays the same: Aggressive coverage of local news; a conservative
editorial philosophy. We'll continue to work hard every day to ...
