While attending college at different times and at different
universities, two Vandalia women made decisions that would end up
bonding them as "sisters" for years to follow -- they each joined a
local chapter of the Pi Beta Phi sorority on their respective
campuses.
"I think most of us that choose sororities do so for social
reasons initially," said Cathy Hackett, a graduate of Dennison
University and now a member of the Dayton area Pi Beta Phi Alumni
Club. "I didn't really think I considered that I would continue as a
Pi Phi after college."
But when Hackett moved to the Dayton area in the early 1980s, she
