Article: Brunner: Paper ballots worked despite delays ; Counting of paper ballots lasts into Wednesday night

Ohio's top election official said Wednesday, Nov. 5, that she chose to vote using a paper ballot on Election Day after seeing the lines at her polling place.

"I don't think they were overused," Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner said on Wednesday, Nov. 5, during a news conference.

"We really tried to use the backup paper ballots as not a de facto second voting system but as simply a safety net and as a best practice so that we wouldn't have lengthy lines that could disenfranchise people on Election Day."
