A longtime Evansville developer who plans to buy a 27-acre tract of the Engelbrecht Orchard on Evansville's North Side said he would not build apartments there if that would relieve neighbors' concerns over the future of the property.

The dispute between Dan Buck and the Orchard Parke Neighborhood Association took center stage at Monday night's City Council meeting.

Buck asked the council to rezone part of Connie Engelbrecht's 800 Christ Road orchard from commercial to single-family and multiple residence.
