Nelson Brass Ensemble at the Playhouse Theatre, last night.
Reviewed by Michael Monti. -------------------- It's always great to
see performers enjoying themselves; their enthusiasm passes on to
the audience. Certainly the Nelson Brass Ensemble enjoyed
themselves, as did the audience.
The quintet comprises Steve Rudhall and Louise Moroney on trumpet
or cornet, Alice Rudhall and Mike Ford on tenor horn and Nick Sharpe
on tuba.
Their music ranged from a piece written by King Henry VIII to
songs made popular by Frank Sinatra, classical to dixie.
Arrangements were superb and the playing throughout was polished and
precise.
