ways of keeping the children entertained over the festive period
When my husband used to open his Christmas stocking as a child,
he would be greeted with, among other things, beetroot and coleslaw
sandwiches. Jennifer Irvine, who runs the food specialist company
The Pure Package, advocates fresh and dried fruit as a more
appealing snack from Santa, she says my in-laws did well to ditch
the idea of sweets and chocolate for something more healthy.
"Give your pre-schoolers sugar-highs first thing when they open
their stockings and, behaviourally, you're heading for trouble
