Ever changing weather conditions, winds that gusted over 30 miles
per hour and a slow start that nearly put the team in an early
deficit were problems the Lancaster Mennonite field hockey team
overcame in its district playoff match Saturday against Fleetwood.
The Blazers (17-3-1) scored one goal late in the first half
before adding another in the last five minutes of the game in its 2-
0 win. The victory at Governor Mifflin High School propelled the
team in to the district semifinals next week against Donegal, which
beat Greenwood 3-0 Saturday.
"I thought if we kept on going in the first half, we should be
able to score if we kept the pressure on," Lancaster Mennonite coach
