The Downtown Visitors Center will move from Southern Market
Center to the Heritage Center this spring, it was announced Tuesday.
By relocating one block north onto Penn Square, the visitors
center will get a new name, the Lancaster Visitors Center.
It also will cease to be run by The Lancaster Chamber of Commerce
& Industry and will instead be operated by the Pennsylvania Dutch
Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The Downtown Visitors Center has been in the converted market
building at Queen and Vine streets for 20 years.
"Moving it to the higher-visibility, higher-traffic area of Penn
Square will provide more opportunities to tell folks about all the
things we have to offer in the city and across ...
