Los Angeles World Airports is dropping LA/Palmdale Regional Airport from its efforts to regionalize air service in Southern California, prompting county officials to consider taking legal action against the airport agency.

The news came out shortly after officials with LAWA and county Supervisor Michael Antonovich's office met Thursday morning to discuss the future of Palmdale airport, which will lose its sole commercial carrier when United Airlines pulls out Dec. 7.
