Lake Delton -- The gaping hole where Lake Delton gushed like a fire hose last June is gone, filled with 12,000 truckloads of sand, tons of rocks and the roar of earthmoving equipment.

The work is urgent. It must be finished before the first frost and before asphalt companies close for the year at the start of deer hunting season in late November.

The work is also on budget and on schedule thanks to 20-hour workdays six days a week, which means Lake Delton will soon begin to get wet and look like itself again.
