Brookfield -- Members of the Brookfield East High School French
Club are donning their elf caps to help a couple of families have a
brighter Christmas.
The club is aiding the efforts of the Christmas Clearing Council
of Waukesha County, an organization that since 1949 has helped line
up presents for children in need. The council is seeing an increase
in the number of people requesting help because of the dire
economic times.
And for the third consecutive year, the club will be spreading
holiday cheer to a French-speaking Algerian family that immigrated
to Waukesha from Paris after leaving its home in North Africa for
better job opportunities and a more stable political climate.
