There is no quick fix for Grimsby Town's problems.

That was the message from manager Mike Newell after the Mariners were last night beaten at home by a Bradford side which played with 10 men for 78 minutes.

The ignominious 3-1 defeat extended Town's record-breaking run of winless games to 20.

Newell, who blamed a lack of killer instinct from players short on confidence, said new men would arrive but gave no timescale.

"It's my intention to bring in new players because otherwise I wouldn't be doing my job," he said.

"What I have been doing is having a look at what I have got here. You don't want to be bringing in players and then finding out you have better ones here.

"It's not a quick fix. ...
