His weekend at opening meets around the country, there's one word
that everyone will be talking about - repeal. When the Hunting Act
came into force on February 2005 it still looked a distant dream.
Now, however, in a changed political climate and with a firm
Conservative commitment to a free vote on scrapping the Act, the
odds on it being scrapped are shortening.
Hunting's opening weekend is an even more important occasion
since the Hunting Act came into force. The sheer number of hunt
supporters still present shows the determination and resilience of
the rural community to take such pride in and continue to fight for
what we believe in.
