A two-year-old toddler was left home alone by his mum who ran off
because she couldn't cope, a court heard yesterday.
The naked little boy was left in the filthy flat he shared with
his 22-year-old mother.
Exeter magistrates heard the flat was cluttered with clothes,
dirty nappies and disposable razors without protected covers
littered the carpets and there was no fresh food in the kitchen.
The boy, who cannot be named, was only discovered when a
postwoman went to the flats in east Devon. She heard a child crying
on the intercom and a policeman went to investigate.
Prosecutor Karen Ball told the court the boy was upset, crying
