A cornwall school has joined forces with schools in Devon to
become a centre of excellence for teaching the Chinese language.
The Peninsula Group, made up of Callington Community College,
Devonport High School for Girls, Hele's School in Plympton and
Ivybridge Community College, have been jointly recognised as a
Confucius Classroom.
The schools already teach Mandarin Chinese at some level and will
now have the support of two visiting teachers from China, who will
travel around them and other primary and secondary schools to teach
formal lessons and take clubs.
Schools will co-operate to run joint Chinese days for particular
age groups, where pupils will enjoy sessions in Chinese history, ...
