When Sir Henry Every takes up the post as the High Sheriff of
Derbyshire, he will be carrying on a family tradition.
During a ceremony at London's High Court, Sir Henry was formally
named as the next person to take up the role of the county's agent
to the Queen.
The 61-year-old will take up the post in April next year, the
latest from his family to fill the centuries-old role.
Sir Henry, of Egginton, said the family tradition began in 1612
when his ancestor, Sir Henry Leigh, was named High Sheriff of
Derbyshire.
