Games between Stoke City and Hull City have not always been nip
and tuck. Simon Lowe takes a look back at past meetings between the
two clubs, including the time Stoke returned to the Football League
after the First World War in November, 1922 when Hull dished out a 7-
1 thrashing - still the biggest margin of victory.
In recent years, games between Hull and Stoke have been as tight
as a pair of John Prescott's Speedos.
Two hard-fought 1-1 draws last season followed on from a dramatic
late goal towards the end of the previous season by Nicky Barmby,
which eventually cost Stoke a vital win and a place in the promotion
play-offs.
But it wasn't always so nip and tuck. The teams met just twice ...
