Article: Dredging clears the way for marina users

None of the 50 to 60 boaters using the Martinez Marina on Saturday morning were seen jumping for joy, but there was no doubt they were happy to see a dredger at the marina entrance.

"It had to be done, my boat has a shallow draw, but the Happy Hooker sometimes gets stuck," a regular launch user said. "(The dredger) was in my way this morning and some of the bottom got on my boat, but I am glad they are doing it."

It has been about three years since the last maintenance dredge and lately, slip renters have had to wait for high tides to ingress and egress the marina.
