The winds blew in more than cold air Sunday at Rosecrans Memorial
Airport. The Air Force launched an operational readiness inspection
when Col. John "Woody" Almind and 17 other inspectors with the Air
Mobility Command touched down at Rosecrans to test everyone in the
139th Airlift Wing of the Missouri Air National Guard.
"Honestly, I'm just glad they're here because I've been watching
the men and women on this base do their jobs for the last 34 years
and I know they are all ready to excel," said Col. Stephen Cotter,
the wing commander.
The 1,000-plus men and women attached to the Airlift Wing
received orders Sunday, shortly after the inspectors arrived at
