Local elections officials said Thursday there will be enough
paper at the polls to ensure all votes are properly cast next week.
Even with computerized voting in Westmoreland County and a
partial electronic system in Fayette County, stacks of paper ballots
will be available if needed on Election Day.
Westmoreland County Elections Bureau Director Jim Montini said
20,000 emergency paper ballots will be sent out to each of the
county's 306 precincts. Another 20,000 emergency ballots will be
kept in waiting at the Greensburg courthouse, ready to be dispatched
throughout the county if necessary.
And the county will be able to print any additional ballots,
according to Montini.
