The Uniontown Council 1275 of the Knights of Columbus is
celebrating its 100th anniversary.
The council was instituted on Jan. 5, 1908, and those active in
its formation were residents of Uniontown who were members of other
councils.
Meetings were held for a number of years in the lodge room on the
third floor of the First National Bank building until the council
secured its own quarters in the Hagan Building on East Main Street,
then to the third floor of the Blackstone Building and to its own
building at the corner of East Main and Coolspring streets.
The council, however, lost its home during the Depression years
and moved twice before it settled at the former John Brown Estate
