Question: Recently I watched a DVD of "McHale's Navy." It
reminded me of another show, but I cannot remember the name of it.
It seems to me that it was about Navy pilots in the South Pacific
and the squadron leader was "Pappy" Boynton.
Was there such a show and is it available on DVD?
Answer: The series you recall is "Baa Baa Black Sheep," which ran
on NBC from 1976 until 1978. It was sorta kinda based on the true
story of Maj. Gregory "Pappy" Boyington and the flyboys he commanded
during World War II. "Baa Baa Black Sheep" is on DVD.
