CONTRACTING
Northrop Grumman said it is protesting the Pentagon's decision
last week to award contracts to three competitors for a new vehicle
to replace the Humvee.
Northrop filed the protest with the Government Accountability
Office over contracts for the Joint Lightweight Tactical Vehicle
given to teams led by General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin and British
conglomerate BAE Systems.
Each selected team received deals worth between $35.9 million and
$45 million to begin the second phase of the vehicle program, which
could ultimately be worth $20 billion or more.
