Hamas says it pushes for national unity coalition government
GAZA, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Islamic Resistance Movement, or
Hamas, said on Saturday that it wants the formation of a Palestinian
national unity government to settle the political crisis.
"Hamas pushes towards a national coalition government that can
defend the Palestinian people and their rights," said Fawzi Barhoom,
a Hamas spokesman in Gaza.
Barhoom remarks mean that Hamas rejects the proposed idea of
forming a technocrat government that exclude members of the largest
Palestinian groups -- Hamas and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas'
Fatah movement.
