Industrial new orders down in euro area in August

BRUSSELS, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- The 15-nation euro zone saw a drop of industrial new orders in August compared with July, official figures released here Thursday showed.

The index of the euro area industrial new orders fell by 1.2 percent, while in July it increased by 2.0 percent, the Statistical Office of the European Communities or Eurostat said.
