Article: Holiday salute lives on Governor's military tribute is evergreen

Madison -- Susan Wallsch pulled two small ornaments out of their boxes Tuesday and hung them on a Christmas tree in the governor's mansion.

It was the third tree she's trimmed this holiday season, but this evergreen has a special meaning -- her two ornaments along with about 150 more are dedicated to Wisconsin military members.

"It's a great way to honor the guys this way, and the girls," said Wallsch, of Madison.

Her ornaments feature logos of the U.S. Air Force and Marines along with photos of her stepson Tech Sgt. Charles Lindgren, 34, stationed in Japan, and her son Cpl. Chase Wallsch, who is serving his second tour in Iraq with the Marines.
