Article: DESIGN BIRD FOR GAZETTE'S COLORING CONTEST

Every November, the shelves of Pikes Peak-area craft stores are raided for crayons, glitter, feathers and beads. It can mean only one thing: It's time for The Gazette's annual Turkey Coloring Contest.

In years past, Gazette artists have provided turkeys for thousands of kids (and, yes, many adults) to decorate. Entries are toted with care to the newspaper's downtown office, where they await the discerning eyes of judges young and not-quite-so-young.

This year, we're throwing in a twist: a different kind of contest!
