The mother of a businessman who was killed in a horrific car
crash has reopened his fish and chip shop as a "lasting tribute" to
her son.
Gillian Rowe officially reopened the Merry O'Sole in Ivybridge,
the home town of 28-year-old Barry Rowe.
He and his girlfriend, mother-of-one Becky Hoynes, 30, died after
their Subaru car crashed at Embankment Road in Plymouth on Friday,
September 5.
Mrs Rowe reopened the chip shop last Monday, but held an official
launch on Friday night, when she said: "I see this place as being a
lasting tribute to him.
"My ambition is to see his dream become a reality and open a
restaurant at the site like he had planned. Barry had it all planned
