MILLERSBURG -- Hiland boys basketball coach Mark Schlabach didn't think his team was particularly productive at the offensive end a year ago.

So, with a new-look team in a new season, the Hawks went about changing that.

Attacking full court with 6-foot-4 freshman Dylan Kaufman and 6- 7 sophomore Noah Boyd at the front of a hawkish press, Hiland raised both the tempo of Friday's Holmes County showdown at West Holmes and, perhaps, expectations for an entire season.

Hiland turned a 35-29 halftime lead into a runaway in the third quarter that saw five 3-pointers fall and a 23-11 spread that sparked a 71-51 victory at The Dungeon.
