Most store lambs sold strongly at livestock sales at Canterbury Agricultural Park, in Christchurch, this week.

Store lambs were up by between $4 and $5 a head from last week, except for more forward lambs, with the best making $60 to $68 and the odd sale to $79. The prime market was mostly steady, with better lambs at $90 to $100 and as high as $127. Prices dropped in a large yarding of prime ewes because processing space is proving hard to get before Christmas. Heavy ewes made $43 to $55.

Prime cattle classes sold either the same or better than last week.
