By Register Staff Robert M. Jelenic, 58, former chairman and
chief executive officer of Journal Register Company, the publisher
of the New Haven Register, died Wednesday night in Pennsylvania
after a long bout with cancer.
Jelenic, 58, was the architect and driving force behind JRC
before stepping down in November 2007 after 20 years with the
Yardley, Pa.-based corporation.
"My 32 years in the newspaper industry have been extremely
gratifying and rewarding," Jelenic said at the time of his
resignation.
He is survived by his wife, Joy, of New Hope, Pa.; parents, Tom
and Dana Jelenic, and sister, Marianne Jelenic, all of Sudbury,
Ontario, Canada; son, Lee Jelenic, his wife, Bethany, and their ...
