North East Lincolnshire residents were given an early Christmas
present this week, with the news that crime is down.
The latest figures released by Humberside Police - and broken
down by council ward - show compared to the same period last year,
only burglaries from houses have increased.
The figures cover August to October and, as the tables printed in
today's Grimsby Telegraph show, there have been decreases in every
other area, including theft, assaults and drug offences - and a drop
in overall crime.
Neighbourhood Chief Insp Andy Oliver said: "Whilst the figures
that have been released are only a snap shot, taken in the round
they are very encouraging for residents of North East ...
