A man who robbed a blind woman of her white stick in Central Park
is being hunted by police.
The 35-year-old victim - who is registered blind, but has partial
sight - was walking through the park close to the pitch and putt
area at 1.20pm yesterday when she became aware of a man standing in
front of her.
She told police he asked her for change, but she had no money in
her purse.
She was grabbed by the man, spun around and pushed to the ground.
The robber then grabbed her empty small black purse and her white
stick before fleeing, leaving his victim on the path suffering a cut
to her nose and injuries to her hand.
Despite being in shock, the woman was able to call the police on
her mobile ...
