Article: Doomed petition ; Jane Beare's letter ("Give animals a turn", November 27) reminded me that years ago a petition to the BBC sought an "Animals in Need" programme. I collected signatures and one lady who signed said "you'll be lucky, the BBC won't want to know". She was right - it didn't.
