With its soaring population, 2008 saw the East Riding emerge as
one of Britain's most popular places to live.
It was revealed the county's population had grown by 27,500,
with 333,000 residents taking advantage of its good schools,
attractive rural location and high standard of living.
While Hull was only beginning to turn the tide after decades of
negative publicity, the Office of National Statistics revealed in
January Beverley was one of the most popular areas to move to in the
