Article: Service charge for flat is increasing ; Q: Two years ago I bought a one-bedroom flat in a block of four. The problem is the service charge is increasing, and now runs at pounds50 a month. I am a pensioner and am finding it impossible to manage. They are now saying the ground rent is going up, from pounds10 a year to pounds108 a year. Do I have to pay these charges?
