From Newman to Ledger to Heston to Charisse to Widmark to Carlin:
Let's just say the past 12 months haven't been good for the average
arts and entertainment consumer of passing good taste.
As our annual sober reminder that Death takes no holiday
whatsoever, the Billboard column presents its annual fond adieu to
those who've been so rudely yanked from our midst.
The harvest was such a bumper one that we only have room to cover
the first six months of '08's celebrity exits in this column. The
final six months will be recapped next week.
