As our annual sober reminder that Death takes no holiday whatsoever, the Billboard column presents its annual fond adieu to those who've been so rudely yanked from our midst.

The harvest was such a bumper one that we only have room to cover the first six months of '08's celebrity exits in this column. The final six months will be recapped next week.
